Probing the Prostate

Partnering with Thorne Harbour Health, this project is aimed at people with a prostate, specifically within LGBTQIA+ communities. The project will assess the barriers to testing in this population through qualitative interviews, then co-design a clinical service for prostate cancer testing to encourage an improvement in prostate cancer early diagnosis in this population. This project will work with consumer advocates and health professionals to create a service that appropriately meets the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The aim is that this service will create a framework for other organisations around Australia to improve health seeking behaviour by using practices sensitive to the needs of this population. Partnering with consumers to co-design our intervention will aim to drive system level change for this under-represented population.

This project is funded by Movember.
